Star Rise in the Global Village

Originally designed as a fund-raising quilt for Rising Star Quilters of Arlington, MA, Star Rise paid homage to that guild’s unusually diverse membership, incorporating fabrics from Africa, India, Indonesia, and Japan, as well as the United States, to communicate the idea of a global village, beautiful because of its variety. Made up of Rising Star, Ohio Star, 54-40 or Fight Star (in two sizes), Tree variations, and House blocks joined with improvisational piecing. Directions included for each block and for the improv piecing.

Layouts included for full size quilt (83″ x 95″ shown), lap quilt (50″ x 60″), wallhanging (30″ x 36″), and pillow (16 1/2″ x 17 1/2″).

30+ pages, available in print or pdf. $25
